Course content
1. Basic typology: Mass disasters and catastrophes 2. The activity of health care facilities in the reception and provision of health care for a large number of people affected 3. Preparedness of the healthcare system in the Czech Republic for mass disasters and catastrophes 4. Crisis planning, crisis preparedness plans 5. Establishment (2014) and goals of the Society of Health Crisis Preparedness of the Czech Medical Association of J.E.P. 6. EU Civil Protection Mechanism (Council Decision 2007/779 / EC), Traumateam CR (Brno) 7. Medical rescue service in the Czech Republic - trauma plans, trauma centres 8. Specialized Emergency Care 9. International legislation and recommendations for crisis management 10. Legislation of the Czech Republic with an emphasis on the management of health care and the provision of health services in times of crisis situations 11. Learning outcomes
The subject is conceived as theoretical and practical. Students will be acquainted with the basic information from the field of crisis management and disaster medicine at international (WHO, EU) and national (CR) levels. Students will also receive theoretical and practical information focused on the structure and function of individual components of the Integrated Rescue System in the Czech Republic and on the development of pandemic and crisis plans for cases of threats to the health of the Czech population of various aetiologies (CBRN: Biological, Chemical, Radiation and Nuclear Incidents) cross-border risks, including international legislative regulations and recommendations.
The aim of this subject is to acquire basic knowledge of crisis management in health care with the emphasis on the risk of mass disasters and catastrophes.
