Course content
The program is aimed at the development of basic skills for the students to understand the psychological aspects of patients reaction to the illness and basic psychological care about the patient. It consists of lectures about defend mechanisms and reactions to the illness and of practice and workshops about the psychological leading of the patients.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basic principles of psychology focused on doctor-patient relationships. Students learn basic communication skills and techniques to facilitate professional communication with patients. Students learn about the basic methods of psychological diagnostics and selected psychological phenomena such as suicidality, aggression, stress and its consequences on mental and physical health, and the basics of crisis intervention.
Application and integration, implementation of knowledge gained in the treatment process.
Prerequisites
Sufficient level of personal maturity, friendliness, empathy, basic communication skills.

Student performance

Completing internships in their entirety, writing an essay, successful completion of the oral exam.
