Course content
1. Basic topics, contact hours 2. Principles of organization of health and safety at work. 3. Physical risk factors (noise, dust, vibration, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation), risk factors, chemical, biological and other - identification, evaluation, categorization of works, prevention 4. Occupational health hazards (night work, works at height, epidemiologically significant activities, etc.) 5. Occupational health services, health ability to work 6. Basic types of health damage from work (eg occupational diseases, threats to occupational diseases, work-related diseases) - diagnosis, prevention, assessment, material responsibility. 7. Ergonomics. Health promotion in workplaces.

Learning outcomes
The subject acquaints students with the basics of organization of health and safety at work and is part of a complex of subjects allowing to practice in all areas of health care. The student will get acquainted with the basic risk factors of work - such as chemical substances, biological factors, physical factors (especially excessive physical load, total and local muscle, but also vibration, noise, dust, ionizing, non-ionizing radiation) and their influence on health. Possible health damage from work will be discussed from the point of view of different sectors of activity and with regard to their prevention. A number of work environments and activities will be introduced using video sequences. The student will get acquainted with the basics of occupational health services from the point of view of employee, employer and provider. Emphasis will be placed on legislative anchoring, prevention of occupational health damage, health promotion at work, and the positive importance of work for health.
The aim of the subject is to understand the organization of health and safety at work. Understanding the basic principles of assessment of health risks in the working environment, their influence on the health of workers and in particular the principles of prevention of health damage from work, including labor law context. The student will understand the possibilities of health promotion in working team and employers' organizations.
