Course content
Structure of healthcare facilities, category of health workers. Care for a safe environment, principles of asepse, disinfection, sterilization, OBP, legal standards. Preparation of sterile area to aseptic performance. Basic surgical instrumentation. Receiving, translating and discharging patients. Hygienic care, positioning of patients. Basic dressing technique, DKK bandages. Monitoring FF. Issues of urine and stool excretion. Pharmacotherapy, drug delivery principles. Preparation and administration of injections, drug dilution. Peripheral and central venous approaches. Infusion thrush. Transfusion delivery. Diet therapy, nutrition and feeding of patients, parenteral and enteral nutrition. Sampling of biological material, sampling principles, types of sampling. Wound care, bandages, stitch extraction. Caring for drains and drains, stoma. Preparing the patient for invasive procedures, pre-operative preparation, post-operative care according to the nursing process principles.

Learning outcomes
This course builds basis of professional practical skills of a midwife; it allows students to perfect their manual skills and certainty when performing particular professional tasks and it is used for the implementation of professional care in midwifery.
The student will theoretically acquire the basic professional skills in midwifery and then practice it on the relevant models (blood and other biological material, injections and infusions, bladder catheterization, application of the knee, FF measurement ...). Furthermore, she will be able to identify, implement and respond to specific nursing activities in the individual care units in midwifery.

Mark, Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of Activities ( Technical works), Systematic Observation of Student, Seminar Work, Written exam

90% attendance at all seminars and practical exercises, processing and demonstration of the problem. Continuous testing and testing. Final credit test.
