Course content
1.Terminological issues, educational psychology among other sciences, psychology significance for education and pedagogy, subject and methods of research, application of educational psychology. 2. The terms of modern educational science - educational reality and current trends in education in Czech Republic and in the world. 3. The concept of synchronous multiparadigmatism of education, different interpretation of the concept of learning, types and kinds of learning, learning patterns, the importance of memory in learning 4. Internal and external factors of learning, genetic and social conditionality of school success. 5. Skinner and Bruner, two main theories for education, their predecessors and successors. 6. Piaget and Vygotsky, constructivism in educational psychology. 7. Motivation in the school environment, the importance of motivation, understanding the needs of pupils in terms of improving their motivation for learning. 8. Reform movement and alternative streams of education, their function and significance. 9. New perspectives on learning and teaching as a critique of traditional practices in schools. 10. Promoting effective learning and teaching, how to teach, how to learn. 11. Pupils with special educational needs, the current situation of school integration. 12. Contemporary trends in education ,development of pupils social skills, key competences in education, neurophysiology and science education, inclusive education. 13. Newer theories of motivation in education. 14. Teacher as an important factor in education, typology of teachers, educational and teaching styles of teachers. 15. Operation of the school class (class management, roles of pupils in the classroom, the teacher relationship versus class, types of class group). 16. New trends in educational diagnostics, dynamic diagnostics, learning potential. 17. Mediated teaching, structural cognitive modifiability, involvement of teachers, instrumental enrichment program. 18. Social and moral development of children in the school context.
