Psychological aspects of public opinion research The concept of public opinion The importance of the questionnaires in a research project Problems associated with the preparation of the questionnaire Formulation of questions in relation to its meaning Verbal formulation of items Position and strategy issues Determination effort The sample Sources of methodological errors and biases Possibility of using scales for measuring attitudes Using an index of psychosocial research Formal and logical control of data Statistical processing and interpretation of results Specifics of the Internet (online) survey of public opinion

Learning outcomes
Familiarization with basic concepts and principles of psychological approach of the public opinion. poll. On-line research of the public opinion. Active participation in survey of public opinion.
1. Familiar with the psychological aspects of public opinion research. 2. Highlights the basic conditions for the creation of a research questionnaire (wording, order, questioning strategies). 3. Defines methodological errors and bias in public opinion research, including designing research file. 4. Understand the principles of formal logic and control data. 5. Familiar with the basic features of on-line survey of public opinion.

Methodology in psychology, basics of statistics, social psychology, socialization questions 1 and 2
