Course content
Circuits for exam in Clinical psychology in Doctoral Study Program. The circuits are valid for both first and final exam. (The first exam - two circuits, the final state doctoral exam - further two circuits. One circuit remains omitted.) a) Psychopathology (MUDr. PhDr. Miroslav Orel, Ph.D.) ACUTE CONDITIONS IN PSYCHOPATHOLOGY 1) issues of suicidal behavior 2) problems of acute psychotic states 3) problems of severe mood disorders 4) problems of withdrawal and delirium 5) problems of escalation of anxiety b) Psychodiagnostics (doc. PhDr. Radko Obereignerů, Ph.D.) The methods used in clinical psychodiagnostics, focusing on methods ROR, TAT, MMPI-2, Wechsler intelligence and memor scales. Classification of methods, types of findings, neuropsychological tests and tests according to particular neuropsychological domains. The image of mental disorders in authoritarian methods, the integration of data from a psychological examination. Diagnosis of personality, memory, intellect, organicity, affective disorders, psychoses, neuroses, diagnostic sub-components of personality (talent, temperament ...). Specifics of child and adolescent psychodiagnostics. Methods used in child and adolescent psychodiagnostics. Strategy of complex, targeted and controlled psychological examination. c) Psychotherapy (doc.PhDr. Mgr. Roman Procházka, Ph.D.) 1.Indications for psychotherapy in clinical practice, psychotherapeutic relationship, psychotherapeutic interview, effective factors of psychotherapy, research in psychotherapy 2.Group psychotherapy and therapeutic community 3. Deep and psychodynamic directions 4. Humanistic directions 5. Cognitive-behavioral directions 6. Hypnotic relaxation directions 7. Family therapeutic directions 8. Integrative and eclectic directions 9. Psychotherapy in neurotic disorders 10. Psychotherapy of substance abuse 11. Psychotherapy of specific personality disorders 12. Psychotherapy in psychosomatic diseases 13. Psychotherapy of marital and family problems 14. Specifics of psychotherapy of children and adolescents, the use of therapeutic methods, expressive techniques of targeted activities d) Psychology of health and disease (Mgr. Martin Kupka, Ph.D.) 1. Basic psychosomatic concepts - specific, non-specific, borderline. 2. Theoretical concepts of health and disease - basic models (biomedical, psychological, sociological, holistic). 3. Crisis intervention after communication of a serious diagnosis. 4. Problems of acute and chronic diseases. 5.Psychological approaches to managing acute and chronic pain. 6. Problems of dying - accompanying a dying person, work with mourning. 7. Problems of diseases of civilization and issues of prevention. 8. Problems of resilience and the importance of social support. e) Child clinical psychology (PhDr. Leona Jochmanová, PhD.) 1. Stages of child development, their specifics in terms of clinical practice. 2.Disorders of psychological development in childhood and adolescence,major changes in the classification of DSM-5 and ICD-11 compared to ICD-10. 3. A child with a disability and his family. Chronically ill children.Child and pain. 4.Problems of trauma in children, developmental and complex trauma. 5.The importance of attachment, the psychological needs of the child and the consequences of their deprivation.Residential care. Substitute family care (with an emphasis on particular forms of foster care).

Learning outcomes
To deepen doctoral students' knowledge in specific subfields of clinical psychology. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the students orientation in psychopathology, psychological assessment, psychotherapy, psychology, health and illness, child clinical psychology in accordance with current knowledge in these fields.
- Student is familiar on superior level with the systems of classification of mental disorders. - Student can compare the systems ICD-10 and DSM-IV - Student is familiar on superior level with principes of selected psychodiagnostc methods - ROR, TAT, MMPI-II, WAIS-III and others. - Student is able on superior level to integrate data from psychodiagnostic assesment in clinical psychology - Studnet is familiar with limits of diagnostic assesment. - Student is well-known in directions in psychotherapy and research in psychotherapy. - Student is well-known in research in clinical psychology, is able to design research study. - Student is familiar on superior level with developmental theories and psychology of health and disease. - Student understand the ethical issues in clinical psychology and research.
Prerequisites
Completed Mgr. study in psychology. Ph.D. student.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

1) Studium of selected topics from clinical psychology (see sylabus) 2) Participation in lectures on selected topics. 3) Oral examination.
