| Course content |
|
The basic science of diagnostics, surgical/non-surgical procedures, acute events, and many clinically important diseases are taught in the first part of the block. Detailed understanding of particular surgical procedures including postoperative care, outcome measuring, reaction to complications and cooperation with orthopaedist is a subject of the second week. In the last part of the block, students are exposed to inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic practice and assist during selected surgeries.

Student will get acquainted with general principles of orthopaedic surgery; they will be introduced into prevention, diagnostics and therapy of the most frequent orthopaedic diseases. Special attention will be given to acute events in orthopaedics.
Graduates are able to understand basic orthopaedic terminology, diagnostic algorithms, and therapeutic interventions. They should be able to obtain patient history related to musculoskeletal diseases, perform basic examination of musculoskeletal system, understand general principles of technical orthopaedics and postoperative care. |
