The lectures and seminars explain the basic physiology and neurophysiology of motor activity. Chapters in detail: Skeletal muscle - functional morphology, mechanical properties of a skeletal muscle and its contraction, molecular mechanism of muscle contraction (excitation - concraction coupling). Smooth muscles. Skeletal muscle innervation - excitation, transmission of excitation from a motor nerve to a muscle, the roles of the spinal cord, brain stem, basal ganglia, cerebellum and cerebrum in movement control.

Learning outcomes
|
Human physiology is a dynamic science studying the functions of normal healthy human organism, and it treats of its development, regulation, and integration.
The aim of the study of human physiology is intensify of the knowledge about the neuro-motor system, its integration and control, with particular regard to the master degree programme study of the physiotherapy.
