Course content
Students will gain a basic overview of the diagnosis and complex treatment of malignant tumours. The course focuses not only on radiotherapy, chemotherapy and targeted biological therapy, but also on supportive and symptomatic treatment. Special attention is also paid to prevention and screening programmes. Students will gain an overview of the trends in the development of oncological treatment of individual cancers and learn about the psychological and ethical aspects of cancer care. The seminars will focus specifically on the topics for the state exam to facilitate students' preparation for this exam. Since oncology is a rapidly developing field that is not only a medical but also a society-wide issue, this course will certainly be a preparation for medical practice as well.

Learning outcomes
Students will gain a basic understanding of the diagnosis and complex treatment of malignant tumours. In addition, students will gain an overview of current trends in the development of oncological treatment of individual cancers. In addition, they will learn about the psychological and ethical aspects of cancer care, including supportive care.
The seminars will focus on the topics of the state exam to help students prepare for the exam. As oncology is a rapidly developing field that is not only a medical but also a society-wide concern, this course will certainly be a preparation for medical practice as the prevalence of cancer patients in treatment and dispensary is continuously increasing.

The requirements for granting credit is 100% active participation in practical seminars with mastering the basics of examination and care of oncology patients.
