Course content
Bone orbit, external eye muscles. Lids, lacrimal efferent paths and lacrimal glands. Anatomical structure of the eye globe - conjunctiva, cornea, sclera, živnatka, pupil, lens, vitreous humor, retina. Physiological function of individual structures of the eye. Visual pathway, the neurons, the occipital cortex. Vascular and nerve supply to the eye and orbit. Eye as an optical system, central visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, visual field, binocular vision, color vision. Examination of a slit lamp, ophthalmoscope, perimeter.

Learning outcomes
Students will get essential knowledge of the field of eye anatomy and functions of a vision analyser necessary for studying other technical subjects of ophthalmology and optometry.
Students have mastered theoretical and practical essentials necessary for the study of clinical ophthalmology.
