Dissertation seminars are mainly a discussion of the problems of the dissertation between the supervisor and the student. They are run individually or in small groups. In the third seminar, a group of PhD students is expected to be involved in the public presentation of the partial results of the research or part of the dissertation (oral and written) and detailed expert analysis and discussion with the participation of the supervisor (or other members of the faculty council) and other PhD students.
In the third seminar, the PhD student already has a substantial part of the dissertation behind. The seminar serves as a feedback from colleagues, the tutor, and board members about whether the dissertation is on the right track and really captures the essence of the issue. |
