1. Introduction 2. Aspects of consecutive interpreting 3. Differences between consecutive and simultaneous interpreting 4. Problems of taking notes while interpreting 5. Familiarization with interpreting technical equipment 6. Practical training in consecutive interpreting, on the basis of authentic texts of various thematic headings (family, school, hobbies, travel, news, simple texts on politics, culture, social life, business, etc.) 7. Audiovisual recording of students´ interpreting performance in the recording studio

Learning outcomes
|
During the course, students will practice working with professional spoken texts. Emphasis is placed on promptness and continuity of interpretation, the enlarging of vocabulary on thematic lines, the practicing of taking notes and using the corresponding interpreting strategies.
In the theoretical part acquaint the specifics of simultaneous interpreting, conference interpreting and judicial interpreting. In the instrumental part students intensify the experience with consecutive interpreting end acquire the base of simultaneous interpreting.. In the cognitive part students practice memory exercising. In the practical part students apply experience in simultaneous interpretation of short speeches from Czech into Dutch.
