Course content
1. What is interpreting? Difference between interpretation and translation. Sorts of interpreting. 2. Not done: analysis of fragment 3. Sustainable long term memory 4. Listening and analysis of interview 5. Consecutive interpreting without notes 6. Not done: analysis f fragment 7. Short term memory 9. The nature of consecutive interpretation (unilateral, bilateral) 10. Summarizing consecutive interpreting 11. Taking notes 12. Accompanying interpretation

Learning outcomes
The course places emphasis on readiness, content and formal correctness of the transfer and continuity. Students also continuously present their own contributions to their chosen topic and interpreting performance on the hours recorded. At the end of the semester, their performances are analyzed and evaluated. They deepen their skills necessary for interpreting quality performance, improve their language and speech skills (idiomaticity in the target language).
In the theoretical part acquaint basic interpreting approaches and procedures. In the instrumental part students acquire the base of consecutive interpreting without and with notes, accompanying interpretation and interpretation from paper. In the cognitive part students practice memory exercising. In the practical part students apply experience in consecutive interpretation of short speeches from Czech into Dutch.
Prerequisites
1. Language skills at least at the level CNaVT-PMT.

Knowledge of Dutch on B2 level ERF.
