Course content
1. Introduction to the topic 2. Basic concepts, look at history 3. Rhetorical style and rhetorical genres 4. Nonverbal communication 5. Rhetorical ornaments, figures and tropes and non-figural resources 6. Preparation for public speaking (creation of own text, structure, content, form, argumentation) 7. Preparation for public speaking (use current technical achievements during the speech) 8. The differences between speakers (Czech, Dutch, Belgium, world) 9. The speaker versus translator 10. Recording in the studio I 11. Recording in the studio II 12. Recording in the studio III

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Observation, Demonstration, Projection (static, dynamic), Laboratory Work, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
The course introduces the problems of rhetorical expressions and techniques of oral presentations. The theoretical part introduces the basic terminology, typology of rhetorical styles and types of speakers. Special attention is also paid to non-verbal communication. The practical part is working with authentic recordings and their own rhetorical speeches which students present and then analyse. The students will also be recorded in the studio of the FF UP. Students have the opportunity to try the role of the speaker in front of the audience, using modern technology commonly utilized in public speeches.

Prerequisites
We recommend to attend the courses: Čeština pro nebohemisty 1,2 (ECN1,2) or Komunikační dovednosti v češtině (1KDC).
