Course content
The course offers a basic theoretical background in terminology, an introduction to related important issues such as the role of the biogeography of the regions, introduces key players, and various tools for assessment, measuring and monitoring biodiversity. Special focus is on the management of field projects, including PR, relations between local communities and nature and various models of fundraising. One lecture is also dedicated to the moder zoos role in biodiversity conservation. In the second half of the course, students are required to use their newly acquired knowledge to manage their own trial conservation project with the consultation of professional conservationists online. To complete the course, students must present their project and defend it in discussion with the committee and other students. The course will be held in English and part of the course is being shared with Indonesian students from the Faculty of Science at the Andalas University in West Sumatra. For the trial project, Palacky university students are required to work online with Indonesian Students and present the outcomes together in the hybrid session. The form of the course also enhances students' skills working within international teams online.
