Course content

The course focuses on review of available methodologies to study global health, develop, conduct and test interventions on global scale or compare interventions under different context. Instead of focusing on different geographic area (e.g. Africa), determinant (e.g. poverty) or health problem (e.g. maternal mortality) the course is going to discuss methods available to assess the state of global health, develop, plan, conduct and evaluate interventions on global, national, regional and local scale with specific focus on global scale. Recent threats and new trends in global health are broadly divided into specific themes discussed during the course. We will start by introduction to the issue of global health and review of major data and knowledge resources. Students will gather information on methods used to measure the scale of health impact of global environmental change, epidemic/pandemic management methods and a very specific and highly relevant issue of migration.
