Course content
Topics of seminars: 1. Constitutional foundations for the effects of EU law in the Czech Republic 2. Practical problems with the effects of EU law immediately after accession af a new Member State 3. Different language versions of EU law 4. Interpretation of EU law for the purposes of its application by national authorities 5. Experience with application of EU law in the Czech Republic - administrative authorities 6. Experience with application of EU law in the Czech Republic - courts 7. Experience with application of EU law in the Czech Republic - preliminary references 8. Implementation of EU law in general 9. Implementation of EU law in Czech legislative procedure 10. Damages claims for EU law infringements in general 11. Damages claims for EU law infringements - Czech legislation and jurisprudence 12. Relationship of EU law with other legal orders

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to get students acquainted with practical aspects and implementation of the Community law in the Czech Republic on the basis of the current jurisprudence of the Court of Justice, Czech Constitutional Court, general courts, administrative bodies, and last but not least also the resolutions and methodical materials of the Government of the Czech Republic. Students should gain the ability to work with the Community law with respect to the specific conditions of the Czech Republic. Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of some other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

It is essential that those students who would like to get the credit must have attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher and they also must submit a paper on topic set by the teacher.
