Course content
|
Growth and development of plant - introduction, basic terminology, ontogenesis and its phases. Reproduction of plants, cell divission, diferentiation and its control, gene expression and plant signaling. Regulation of plant growth and development by fytohormones - auxins, cytokinins, gibberellins, ABA, ethylene and their functions. Embryogenesis - developmental stages, genes controlling the embryo development. Meristems - development of root and shoot, genetic basis of the development. Flower development and control of flowering. Dormancy and seed germination. Senescence and programmed cell death. Photomorphogenesis - regulation of plant growth and development by light. Biotic and abiotic factors influencing plant growth and development.
