Course content
Introduction, survey of techniques, terminology. Sample handling. Development of purification method. Trace analysis requirements. Mechanical processing in sample preparation. Membrane separation. Headspace sampling techniques. Phase transfer separations. Sonication as sample preparation method. Microwave based extraction. Extraction techniques - solvent extraction, sorbent extraction. Preparative chromatography. Immunoaffinity purification methods. Electroseparation techniques in sample preparation. Sample derivatization. Automation in sample preparation.
