Learning outcomes |
The course provides a basic orientation in the field of literary theory with an emphasis on application in the field of literature for children and young people. It introduces students to the structure of a literary work of art, to the means of thematic, compositional and linguistic construction, and to the principles of literary communication. Special attention is paid to the specifics of the perception and interpretation of the text by younger readers, the poetics of comics, and questions of the value dimension of literature.
After completing the course, the student will: be familiar with the basic terminology of literary theory and poetics; recognize thematic, compositional, and linguistic devices in a specific text; apply basic literary theoretical concepts to the analysis of poetry and prose; understand the specifics of literature for children and young people in terms of construction and reception; assess the function of comic devices in children's literature; formulate evaluative judgments based on aesthetic criteria and cultural context. |

Oral exam, Student performance, Systematic Observation of Student, Written exam
active participation in seminars, continuous tasks (e.g. partial analysis of an example, glossary of terms), a credit test verifying knowledge from lectures and recommended literature. Requirements for students with ISP: A credit test based on a presentation (sent by mass e-mail) and the script Introduction to the Study of Literature (doc. Vala) - also sent by mass e-mail. |
