Course content
Theatre Art and its Educational Potential in the Teaching of Czech Language and Literature Dramatic education in the context of RVP ZV Aesthetic, communicative and social functions of drama in the school environment Typology of dramatic texts and production approaches suitable for primary school pupils Audience education - preparation, reception, reflection of the production Methods of dramatic work in education (improvisation, staged reading, dramatisation) Interdisciplinary overlaps of theatre art into art and music education

Learning outcomes
The course provides students with a basic orientation in the possibilities of integrating dramatic art into the educational process at primary school, both within the framework of Czech language and literary education, and in transitions to drama education and other cross-cutting topics according to the RVP ZV. Emphasis is placed on the understanding of theatre as a complex aesthetic, communicative and educational phenomenon that develops personal and social competences of pupils. Students will learn about the principles of working with dramatic text, the possibilities of incorporating theatrical forms into teaching and the theory of education of an informed spectator. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical didactic outcomes.
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: define and justify the importance of the performing arts in the context of elementary education; explain the specifics of teaching dramatic arts and its educational potential; analyse a dramatic text and suggest ways of using it in teaching; recognize the functions of the individual components of a theatrical production and their influence on the audience's reception; prepare and implement a didactic proposal integrating dramatic elements into teaching; plan and methodologically anchor a visit to a theatrical performance, including preparation and reflection; promote the education of a cultured, critically thinking and sensitive spectator; understand and mediate theatre as part of cultural and civic literacy.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance

Developing a didactic project based on the comparison of a literary text and its theatrical adaptation. The project must include: the main goal and expected outcomes according to the RVP ZV (with emphasis on the educational field of Drama Education), a proposal for the development of key competences of pupils, the definition of the method of working with the dramatic text and the method of reflection on the theatrical performance. Requirements for students with ISP: Create a project based on a comparison of a publication and its theatrical adaptation. The project will include an explicit statement of the main goal of the project, ways of developing students' competences, fulfilling the expected outcomes of the complementary educational field of Drama Education, etc. The method of theoretical implementation of the project is up to you.
