Course content
1. Art and history of art - subject and meaning of the branch. 2. Historiography of the art history I: From the Antique Period to the Age of Enlightenment. 3. Historiography of the art history II: From the Age of Enlightenment up to the 20th century. 4. Actual directions in methodology of the art history. 5. Heritage conservation. 6. Museums and galleries, the most important world collections.

Learning outcomes
Familiarizing with objectives, methodology and terminology of the art history branch and related disciplines. Historiography of the art history, genres of the expert branch debate and their formal belongings, system of museums and galleries, monument preservation. Art-historical criticism, meaning, applications.

Knowledge of art on the secondary school level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Critical paper on the given theme: Review of the actual exhibition of visual art + digital presentation with image accompaniment. Written text testing the knowledge of art-historical terminology (artefact description, iconography, technology) and lectured themes.
