Course content
|
- Characteristics of the topic Education of a Democratic Citizen- Citizen, civil society- Principles of democracy as a form of government and means of decision-making- Citizen, civil society and the state - rules, laws, constitution- Forms of citizens' participation in political life - elections, citizen and his/her municipality, social organizations and movements- Authority, power, justice, liability- Means of applying democratic principles and values in life of school - pupils' self-government and pupil parliament, child's rights and liabilities codex, open school.

Learning outcomes

The contents of this seminar are focused on developing civic literacy, critical thinking, and value orientation, creating civic awareness, and ways of resolving conflicts and problems.

Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio
- 100% participation at the seminar- elaboration and submission of seminar theses one week prior to credit week- elaboration of one topic in the form of PowerPoint presentation
