Course content
Definition of terms - rights of the child, the right to participation. The Convention on the Rights of the Child and its characteristics. Participation in the context of the objectives of education and key competencies in education. Political science aspects of the participation of children. Pedagogical aspects of children's participation. European policy for children and youth in relation to the participation of children and youth. Participation of children in the context of a common European education policy.

  • Attendace - 14 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 13 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to: - Explain the importance of participation of pupils and students in the educational process, - Analyze key documents related to the participatory rights - Understand and explain the overlap of participatory rights in the social sciences, - Characterize the evolution of participatory rights in the European and Czech context, - Analyze and interpret the results of the participatory process with concrete examples.

Assessment methods and criteria
Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

Active participation in the seminar. Seminar work in the range of 5400 - 9000 characters in a given topic.
