Course content
The texts of important European thinkers e. g. Piere Du Bois, Jiří z Poděbrad, Jan Amos Komenský, William Penn, Abbé Castel de Saint- Pierre, Jean Jacques Rousseau, Immanuel Kant, R. N. Coudenhove-Kalergi, Václav Havel etc., their analysis; the institutions of EU, common market, economic and monetary union, common policies of European organizations, first, second, third pillars of EU, the perpectives of EU.

Lecture
  • Attendace - 4 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Exam - 16 hours per semester
  • Homework for Teaching - 8 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
After passing the subject the students will be acquainted with the problems of the origin and development of the process of European integration, their reasons and importance. The students´ ability to understand and interpret the significant turning points of unifying tendencies, to define their principles, and the role of important personalities

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Dialog

Each student will work out an entry for students´ dictionary of great European political thinkers. (Virtual extending of the book The Gallery of Great European Political Thinkers by F. Mezihorák). Students will present their work and discuss their topic.
