Course content
World War I and the establishment of Czechoslovakia. I. and II. Czechoslovak Republic - political, economic and cultural development. II. world war, occupation and liberation of Czechoslovakia. Czechoslovakia in the postwar world, the establishment of the communist system. 60s of the 20th century. in Czechoslovakia, the Prague Spring and normalization. 80s of the 20th century. in Czechoslovakia, the end of the totalitarian regime and the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.

After completing the course, students will be able to: "Explain the basic problems of Czech history of the 20th century, "Analyze the most important written sources of modern Czech history, "Understand and explain the phenomena associated with economic and social development of the Czech countries during the 20th century "Characterize the cultural development of the Czech lands during the 20th century, "Understand and explain the main features of the development of Czech society and its changes during the 20th century "Analyze and interpret the condition, causes and consequences of the behavior and actions of Czech society in the watershed moments in modern Czech history.

Written analysis given historical documents. Content analysis - the name of the document, author, date of creation, analysis of the most important parts of each document and assess their significance. Text documents and specific tasks for them - see study support an important document Czech history.
