Course content
Empiricism and rationalism and its representatives. Enlightenment philosophy. German philosophy: Kant, Fichte, Schelling, Hegel. Positivism, materialism and Marxism .. Schopenhauer, Kierkegaard and Nietzsche. The main philosophical trends of the 20th century. The new ontology, philosophy of existence. The question of being in Heidegger. Critical rationalism. Phenomenology, hermeneutics.

Learning outcomes
Students will learn about basic topics and personalities, who significantly contributed to the development of philosophical thought of the 20th and beginning of the 21st century. After completing the course, students should be able to: "Demonstrating knowledge and orientation in modern philosophy "Explain the basic philosophical concepts that were used in the various philosophical systems "Characterize and analyze different philosophical directions "Explain the meaning of various philosophical thinkers for the development of the European and global thinking
Practical application and using the knowledge acquired in the classroom and OV SES
Prerequisites
The underlying assumption is understanding the fundamental problems of the history of ancient, medieval and modern philosophy

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Following contact teaching student writes a seminar paper of eight pages as a necessary condition for granting credit. Consultation with the teacher will be devoted to orientation in the literature concerning modern philosophy. The test will be conducted in the LS form of a dialogue between teacher and student. Part of the preparation for the exam will be given study literature and methodological materials in philosophy.
