Course content
The contents of Philosophy of Religion aim to come close to the current state of philosophical and religious thinking in European philosophy and inform about it. - 1, Jewish thinking - the Old Testament - 2, Christian philosophical and theological thinking - Patristics - 3, Christian philosophical mysticism - 4, Muslim theological and mystical systems - 5, Origin, development and the present-day philosophy of religion, - 6, the existence of God - analysis of ontological, cosmological, teleological, moral and experiential philosophical thinking - 7, Philosophically-religious issue of evil - 8, From myth to Logos, Christian philosophy of religion, the issue of a spirit/soul and body - 9, The philosophical issue of afterlife, facts in favour of afterlife - 10, Global ethos - pluralism - the challenge of postmodernism

Learning outcomes
The subject is focused on explaining the phenomenon called "religion" and its various contexts. Philosophy of religion in a certain sense, is an ontology of religion and religious facts, just as a hermeneutics of religion, because its important task is to interpret a cultural aspect and meaning of religion. It is a process of gaining knowledge about religion, sill growing after the modern age expansion of European culture into other areas (of non-European cultures). This process is connected with a quantitative rise of information concerning religion, which results in more and more changes and shifts in the church and theological or philosophical conceptions of religion.

Prerequisites

Each topic of study is a subject of examination consisting in a student´s attempt to deliver a short lecture for his or her colleague students.
