Learning outcomes
Compulsory elective module Current Issue in Human Rights builds on the compulsory module Fundamental Rights. The module offers deepening the knowledge of human rights beyond this compulsory module. The aim of the module is to make students familiar with certain selected topical human rights issues that are currently being publicly debated. The topics of the seminars will reflect these current issues but also the interests of enrolled students. The actual topics can therefore vary. The structure of the seminars is however stable and will consist mainly in discussion, activities and case studies of the individual topics. Participation of invited guests who are experts on particular topics will be possible.
At the end of the module students will be familiar with the discussed issues. They will be able to work effectively with case law and will better understand human rights in context.
Prerequisites
Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of some other courses.
