The attention is focused on reading and interpretation of the most famous sentences of typical legal wisdom, as they contain brief and precise expression of principles in a nutshell which are valid in the specific branches of law even today. Another aim of this subject is the preparation for the examination in certain subjects, namely the Roman Law, Substantive Law, Civil Procedure, Criminal Law, Family Law, Labor Law etc.
The aim of this course is to teach the students the elementary Latin grammar used in legal texts and introduce them into the most important Latin legal terms, word expressions and statements, which appear in the legal practice most often. Students will gain the basic knowledge of legal Latin, sufficient for working with simple texts in Latin and allowing them to deduce the meaning of Latin legal terminology.
