Course content
Within the part devoted to theological anthropology, the mystery of human being will be outlined in three moments: 1) man and woman as created in the image of God and for friendship with God; 2) a person who has lost this original state as a result of sin; 3) human being redeemed by the grace of Christ. In the section devoted to eschatology, after introducing the nature and method of the whole treatise, the course will focus on: 1) Jesus Christ as the centre of eschatological hope; 2) specific topics of collective and individual eschatology, which have traditionally been discussed as part of De novissimis. In the interpretation of the material, the theological reflection of individual topics will be based on the Bible, tradition and the teachings of the magisterium. Individual topics: - introduction to Theological Anthropology; - human being as the image of God (person and community; soul and body; man and woman); - the supernatural goal of human being; - the original state of man/woman; - the theology of original sin; - theology of grace; - grace as forgiveness of sins: justification; - grace as a new relationship with God: adoption for God's children, participation in God's life; - the life of human being in God's grace; - introduction to Eschatology; - the event of Christ as a historical-eschatological reality; - Christ's resurrection as the basis of our resurrection; - Christ's parousia at the end of time; - universal judgment and the definitive transformation of creation; - the resurrection of the body as the core of Christian eschatology; - death in the light of the Christian faith; - eternal death; purgatory; eternal life.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course in its first part is to present the basic elements of the Christian teaching about man and woman as a God-created and redeemed being. The purpose in the second part consists in introduction to Christian eschatology, which considers the question of the ultimate destiny of human being, history and the world from the perspective of the history of salvation.
At the end of the course the student will be able to: - summarize and explain the basics of Christian doctrine on human being and Christian eschatology; - organically connect the perspective of Scripture, tradition and teaching of the Church in view of the individual topics of the course; - to find connections between individual topics and the Trinitarian and Christological core of the Christian faith; - interpret the main lines of Catholic anthropology and eschatology with regard to their ecumenical dimension; - summarize, critically assess and evaluate selected questions from anthropology and eschatology in terms of the doctrine of the Church after the Second Vatican Council; - to reapply the importance of dogmatic-theological reflection on human being and on "the last things" for own theological synthesis and spiritual life; - draw conclusions from the doctrine of human being and the "last things" for pastoral discernment and practice.
