Course content
|
The course will be structured as follows: 1. The history of the treatise, from apologetics to the ecclesiology of the Second Vatican Council. 2. The method of fundamental ecclesiology; the subject matter and structure of fundamental ecclesiology. 3. The Trinitarian koinonia of God as the source and principle of ecclesial koinonia 4. The Church and the Kingdom of God: the fulfillment of the Church in the eschatological koinonia of God. 5. "Intersubjectivity" as a Key Category for Understanding the Phenomenon of the Church. 6. The Genesis of Christianity: A Theological-Historical Reading of the First Centuries of Christianity. 7. The Relationship Between Charism and Institution; The Question of the Institutionalization of the Church's Dimensions of Life. 8. Christian Theology of Religious Pluralism: the MTK document *Christianity and Other Religions* and the uniqueness of Christ's redemptive work. 9. Christianity and Culture: the relationship of Christianity to the development of science and culture; paths of mutual interaction.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this course, designed as the II. part of the Fundamental Theology, is to introduce students into the fundamental-theological approach to the phenomenon of the Church.
Students will be able to both understand and "to give the reason for the hope" (comp. 1 Pt 3,15) of the Church reality in the history of salvation.

Successful completion of the course "Fundamental Theology 1."

Oral exam
To pass an oral exam on the material presented; study and discuss the assigned reading materials during class.
