The course is divided into five lessons: 1. The Ethical Framework of Social Work 2. Ethical Dilemmas 3. The "Third Way" Approach 4. Conscientious Objection 5. The Principle of Double Effect The course also requires working with materials and completing assignments in Moodle.

Learning outcomes
|
The student will gain insight into the dilemmas of a social worker in everyday work with the client, the need for self-knowledge and selection of appropriate methods in solving crisis situations according to the client's needs.
After completing the course, you will be able to: - identify the ethical rules that a social worker must follow and apply these rules in a specific situation - identify ethical dilemmas - classify strategies for managing ethical dilemmas - apply the principle of double effect - verify the applicability of the conscientious objection

Assessment methods and criteria

The course concludes with an oral exam covering the material covered in class. If a student has experience in social work, the exam will focus on the analysis of a case study presented by the student. Students who actively participate may pass the exam by completing the ongoing tests.
