Learning outcomes

The course RJ4 is intended for students who have elementary knowledge of Russian. During the course, students broaden their knowledge of grammar, vocabulary and stylistics, and practice additional conversational topics. As the course focuses on communication in common everyday situations, students improve their independent speaking and writing skills. The seminars also include reading newspapers and fiction. To some degree, students will become familiar with various lexical layers of contemporary Russian, especially slang, terminology, archaisms, and loanwords.
Students have a command of the vocabulary and grammar covered in lessons 1-20 in the textbook Pařízková, Š.: Ruština pro začátečníky a samouky, 2007.
