Learning outcomes
|
The series of practical translation courses is designed as a concluding part of the obligatory disciplines about translation. The multispectral work with contemporary texts concerning the topic of justice, crime or toxicomania will help the students to train their professional approach to the translator?s practice and to improve their translation skills. Students will get familiar with the vocabulary of a given topic, especially the fixed collocations and and new expressions in Russian judiciary system. Students should use not only the existing sources such as dictionaries or grammar books, but also materials from Russian Internet, especially scholarly articles and explanatory dictionaries.
Students will acquire the skill to apply the general methods of how to work with language and Russian and Czech texts about new professions and how to translate them. They will be able to create a glossary to a selected topic and look up a necessary information about difficult issues.

Prerequisites
|
A practical knowledge of Russian, at least B2 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages and basic knowledge of practice and theory of translation methods.
