Course content
1. Visiting a company (arrival, formal greetings). Custom service. 2. Presenting myself, my colleagues and my company. 3. Business dealings: Introduction. Topic of negotiation. The participant?s opinion. One?s own opinion. Translating suggestions. Expressing disagreement, agreement, doubt, refusal. Conclusion of a negotiation process. 4. Business dealings with a concrete company: Making an appointment, presentation of a new product, questions, demand for the new product, respond to the demand. 5. The conditions of a contract. Negotiation of prize. Delivery terms. Packing. Insurance. Complaints. 6. Organizing an exposition (of company?s products abroad). 7. Applying for a job in a foreign company. Business etiquette. 8. Business breakfast, business lunch, business dinner ? invitation, acceptation or refusal, conversation.

Learning outcomes
This practical course is designed in a way that it should help the students develop basic techniques and habits in oral business dealings (making an appointment, negotiating conditions of cooperation or conditions in contract etc.) Students will get familiar with the necessary vocabulary, terminology, phrases and collocations which compose the core of this topic. The communicative skills are developed by working with written dialogues (interview, negotiation etc.). We shall also deal with emotional aspect which is a necessary part of every dialogue, forming one?s opinion, expressing agreement, disagreement or doubt in negotiation. These skills shall be practices in special exercises.
Acquiring basic habits, skills and competence in business dealings and communication.
Prerequisites
A knowledge of Russian language, at least B1 level of the European Framework of Reference for Languages, a knowledge of Russian grammar system and general vocabulary as required in the language obligatory courses. Communicative and language competence as required in the curriculum.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam

- Active participation, max. 2 absences - Good performances during situations solving - Solving the assigned situations for the credit exam.
