Course content
1. Analysis of the language in the contemporary media: the main features 2. Colloquialization; fusion of styles (on real text examples) 3. Expansion of foreign expressions (English loan words); ways of adaptation (with real examples) 4. Vulgarization of the Polish language (spoken language, narrative language) 5. Proper names in Polish (inflection) 6. Foreign names in Polish (inflection) 7. Local geographical names (inflection) 8. Foreign geographical names (inflection) 9. Verbal valency (conforntation of Czech and Polish) 10. Flection of nouns with adjectival declension 11-13. Revision and tests

Learning outcomes

The course focuses on the current Polish language from the point of view of language culture and language standard. This course will focuse on revision of the current language standard, its practical application and the outline and verification of the current trends. The student will get the latest information on trends in the contemporary spoken and written Polish.
Prerequisites
B2 level in Polish.

- Participation in lectures with a maximum absence of 2 lessons per semestre - Individual lecture of translatological literature (essays and articles) with an extension of 20 pages - Successful passing of the exam (colloquium)
