Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students to selected ideas of contemporary Polish philosophers. Through reading selected texts, students will examine issues related to the "art of living," such as the search for happiness and peace in the modern world, the metaphysics of everyday life, and human being as part of nature, as well as topics important from the point of view of the functioning of man in society: the issues of power, equality, democracy, and diversity.
Good understanding of selected ideas of contemporary Polish philosophers, ability to independently analyze selected philosophical texts.

Prerequisites
|
Very good language skills, which are a prerequisite for reading, analysis and interpretation of academic publications.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Seminar Work
Class attendance (max. 2 absences per semester), knowledge of the subject literature, active participation in the discussion, submission of seminar paper.
