Course content
1. The Origins and Development of Andragogy in the Czech Republic and Abroad. 2. The Nature of Andragogy. 3. The Subject Matter of Andragogy. 4. Factors in Andragogical Intervention. 5. The subject of andragogical intervention. 6. The object of andragogical intervention. 7. Approaches to the object in andragogy. 8. The scope of andragogy. 9. Terminological context and the context of the educational setting. 10. The role of adult education in society.

  • Homework for Teaching - 40 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with the basic categories of andragogy in the concept of adult education, to present andragogy in the science system and to analyze its basic characteristics.
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to: - define the field of andragogy, - describe the fundamental principles of andragogy, - explain the relationship between the various approaches in andragogy, - suggest ways in which andragogy can be applied to the management of educational institutions.
Prerequisites
There are no specific prerequisites; applicants are expected to be able to work with academic literature and to have an interest in adult education.
