Course content
1. Basic categories of archaic and historic human culture. 2. Changes of human culture in time and in space. 3. Social and ideological dynamics of cultural development. 4. Modern and contemporary cultural trends. 5. Demography basics. 6. Folklore. 7. Introduction to archeology.

Learning outcomes
The course presents the perspectives of the basic time-space categories of archaic and historic human culture with emphasis on the existential, social and ideological dynamics of its development on the basis of ethnological and archaeological sociocultural evidences. The attention is also paid to analysis and comparisons in the context of modern, current trends and transformations of human culture. The interpretation is further complemented by both demographic and folkloristic excursions as well as archaeological which allows insight into some of every day life details in the past.
Students are introduced to the perspectives of the basic time-space categories of archaic and historic human culture with emphasis on the existential, social and ideological dynamics of its development on the basis of ethnological and archeological sociocultural evidences. After the successful completion of the course students are able to define basic constitutive categories of human cultures; describe selected approaches to the dynamics of development of cultural phenomena; evaluate the importance of selected socio-cultural phenomena from the point of view of the plurality of cultures.
