Course content
Selected students will be assigned a mentor in a translation agency cooperating with FF UP, and under the mentor's supervision they will translate real assignments up to a total of 10 standard pages. Before the internship itself, students will undergo a short training focused on practical aspects of a translator's work (invoicing, working under a work agreement or as a self-employed person, communication with the agency, etc.).

  • Semestral Work - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 25 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The course offers students the opportunity to try working as a translator in real life.
The student is able to apply translation skills in real-life practice, communicate effectively with clients or agencies, reflect on their work based on feedback, and identify and analyse common errors in their translations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Dialog, Certificate of Graduation of Internship

After completing the translation, the student will meet with the mentor, who will provide feedback. At the end of the internship, the student will prepare a final report describing its course and evaluating the most common mistakes in their translations, the benefits of the internship, and the knowledge and skills acquired, etc.
