Course content
The course will introduce the general theory behind translation technology (terms, machine translation vs. human translation, MT & CAT applications) and will teach basic skills in using various CAT software: Wordfast Pro, PlusTools, Kilgray's MemoQ, TMS Phrase).

Learning outcomes
The course Computer-Assisted Translation introduces students to current ways of using computer technologies in the translation process.
In successfully completing the course the student will have acquired advanced skills with computer-aided translation tools (CAT), such as integration of translation memory (TM), terminology database (TDB) and machine translation (MT) post-editing into the translation workflow, TM creation through alignment of original texts and their existing translations, and complex management of translation project workflow through specialized software tools.
