Course content
The course will cover the following thematic areas: The concept and key characteristics of academic discourse in different contexts. The structure and organisation of academic and scientific texts. Strategies of argumentation, citation, and intertextuality. Analysis of academic genres (article, essay, conference paper, review). Linguistic and stylistic resources characteristic of the academic register. Practice in the comprehension, analysis, and production of academic texts.

Learning outcomes
In this seminar, students are introduced in depth to the methodological and professional principles of academic discourse in Spanish. They receive theoretical and practical training in academic presentations in Spanish, from the defense of a seminar paper to the presentation of a scientific paper at a professional conference. Emphasis will be placed on developing students' practical public speaking skills in a logical, clear and persuasive manner.
To introduce students to the key features and functions of academic discourse in Spanish. To develop their ability to understand and analyse academic texts across different disciplines. To foster the ability to formulate their own arguments in accordance with academic conventions. To enhance linguistic and stylistic competence in academic communication.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam

Active participation in seminars, seminar assignments, written papers.
