Course content
The seminars focus on a detailed analysis of prose texts in Czech and Portuguese, with an emphasis on the short story genre. Attention is also paid to the relationship between Brazilian literature, the literatures of Lusophone African countries (especially Cape Verde, Mozambique, and Angola), and their historical and political contexts. Topics: 1. Modern Brazilian short story 2. Modern Cape Verdean short story 3. Modern Angolan short story 4. Modern Mozambican short story

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen students' understanding of the material covered in Brazilian Literature 1, Brazilian Literature 2, and Lusophone Literature.
Students will become familiar with new texts from Brazilian literature and from the literatures of Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa.
