Course content
The course continues "Portuguese Literature 2". The course focuses on the development of the Portuguese literature from the end of the 19th century up to the present. The attention is paid to the generations Orphea (Fernando Pessoa, Mário de Sá Carneiro, Almada Negreiros) and Presença (José Régio, Branquinho da Fonseca etc.), F. Espanca, selected authors of the neorealism period (Ferreira de Castro, Manuel da Fonseca, José Cardoso Pires etc.) and the poetry, prose and drama in the 2nd half of the 20th century (V. Ferreira, Sophia de Mello B. Andresen, D. Mourăo-Ferreira, José Saramago etc.). The course is taught in Portuguese. During the course, students also analyse selected texts. The emphasis is put on the students' reading, especially of the works by the 20th century authors translated into Czech.

Learning outcomes
The course continues "Portuguese Literature 2". The course focuses on the development of the Portuguese literature from the end of the 19th century up to the present.
Students become familiar with main trends in the evolution of the Portuguese literature of the given period. Students should become able to define basic notions for the given literary context and interconnect literary questions with culturally historical issues. Students should be able to classify the concrete authors within such context, characterise generally their works and analyse in detail the selected texts. Students learn to discuss the matter and independently approach the interpretation of texts.
