    | Course content |
    | The course examines Pier Paolo Pasolini's early films, characterized by a radical reinterpretation of the neorealist tradition. The context (the Italy of the economic miracle), the director's education, and his political and sociological sensibilities shaped a unique cinematography within the context of its time. A section of the course will also be dedicated to Bernardo Bertolucci, Pasolini's "student," and to Before the Revolution (1963), his early masterpiece and manifesto of the Italian New Wave.
