Course content
1. Comparative education as a scientific discipline. 2. Analysis of educational systems in selected developed countries. 3. Trends in education in the world. 4. Analysis of the Czech educational system with respect to trends in the world. 5. Alternative educational systems (educational system by M. Montessori, Walfdorf education, Jenaplan, Freinet pedagogy)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Observation
  • Homework for Teaching - 10 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 20 hours per semester
  • Semestral Work - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Students should understand the subject and methods of comparative pedagogy. They should learn to search for and use native and foreign knowledge about education systems in other countries and judge critically our educational system based on the knowledge of development trends in the world. Students should also orientate themselves in basic ideas and trends of alternative educational systems in our country and also abroad.
Students are able to understand the problems of alternative education and training systems
Prerequisites
General orientation in education, its history and general didactics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar Work

Elaboration of a written paper, topic: "Comparison of an education system abroad with the system in the Czech Republic", 3 to 5 standard pages.
