Course content
1. Educational diagnostics as a science, its subject matter and tasks. Overview of areas of educational diagnostics. Specific features of diagnostics of a pre-school child and younger school child. 2. Overview and analysis of methods of educational diagnostics, their application in diagnostic activities of a pre-school teacher. 3. Specific areas of a pre-school child diagnostics - diagnostics of preparedness for school, diagnostics of prerequisites for reading and writing.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Training in job and motor Skils, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
  • Semestral Work - 10 hours per semester

  • Homework for Teaching - 20 hours per semester
  • Preparation for the Course Credit - 10 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Diagnostics skills - theoretical knowledge and practical experience. Specific features in pedagogical diagnostics in pre-school education. Diagnostic methods in educational process. Education readiness diagnostics. Diagnostics of reading and writing skills.
Students will be provided with competencies that will get to the content and objectives of the course.
Prerequisites
General orientation in education, general didactics and diagnostics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Didactic Test, Systematic Observation of Student, Analyssis of the Student's Portfolio

Students turn in a portfolio focusing on the diagnostics of a selected child and diagnostics of a group of children (e.g. they may focus on diagnostics for preparedness for school of pre-school children). The objective is to demonstrate the ability to elaborate, realize and assess selected diagnostic methods.
