Course content
Principles and methods for PE instruction of pupils at the first level of basic schools. Safety considerations. Use of ball games in various parts of the PE instructional hour. Conditions and specifics of schools and classes with regard to ball games. Ball games for a class with an integrated pupil who has special needs. Ball games in the gymnasium or sport hall as well as outdoors on a playing field, court or playground. Evaluation as feedback during practical performance.

Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Observation, Demonstration, Training in job and motor Skils, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
Illustrating the basic primcipů selected sports games (especially ball games and their rules) within the educational process. Application of acquired knowledge in practice.
Students will become acquainted with the use of ball games in the process of physical education and will master the corresponding skills in individual techniques for the playing of ball games. They will be able to utilize adequate didactic approaches in the training of ball games in PE instruction pro pupils at the first level of basic schools as well as being capable of preparing a lesson plan with an accent on ball games. They will be capable of applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired in their won pedagogical practice.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Didactic Test, Seminar Work

On the basis of demonstrated and practical tested elements of ball games, the students will create for themselves a repertoire of preparatory games and exercises for the training of ball games. They will demonstrate practical skills for the handling of a ball and basic elements of tactics and will as the ability to apply the acquired knowledge and skills in practice (leading part of an instructional hour focussed on ball games). They will also observe an experienced teacher during a PE lesson of which ball games are a part.
